We have always believed that the steps breeders take in their litters' very first weeks of life have a profound impact on the health and happiness of the puppies and their families far into the future. Exposing them to a wide variety of stimuli and experiences sets the stage for the confident, adventurous and loving dogs they will become.
In 2015, we were thrilled to discover a puppy-rearing model that holds the same principles to be true: Puppy Culture. We cannot possibly recommend this video to our fellow breeders and puppy buyers highly enough.
What is Puppy Culture? Puppy Culture is, quite simply, a step-by-step, week-by-week video guide to raising well-socialized puppies.
Jane Killion, breeder, trainer and author, brings together a team of experts to give fascinating insight and practical instruction for breeders and puppy owners. Over five hours of video, Jane provides a logical timeline covering the critical socialization period (birth to 12 weeks) and giving both breeders and puppy owners a clear roadmap for raising a well-adjusted puppy.
Our Puppy Culture Experience We have been breeding Toy Manchesters for almost 30 years and were still blown away by the new information and unique perspective Puppy Culture brought us. In some cases we were happy to see steps we have always taken validated and explained in the context of scientific research, while in so many others we were genuinely pleased to learn new ways to stimulate and support our puppies. Activities were simple and easy, requiring little extra time but instead focusing on the quality of our interactions.
The proof, as they say, is in the pudding. Our first litters raised with Puppy Culture are already proving how well the program works. They are calmer, more sensible, less noise sensitive and learn faster than any puppies we have had previously. We are looking forward to using this system again and again.
Learn More You will find below a link to the Puppy Culture website. We recommend that breeders considering purchase of the program invest in the hard copy DVD or Blueray as you will want to refer back to them again and again. Our puppy buyers are encouraged to continue with the program and can do so by choosing either video on demand or hard copy formats.

Puppy Culture at Work In addition to providing important social foundations, Puppy Culture also teaches puppies how to learn--making training that much easier for new owners. Check out this video of Amanda and a 9-week-old Toy Manchester puppy demonstrating a few of the tricks she has learned.
