2015 in Review
Well, what can we say about 2015 other than we're glad it's over! Sadly, we lost three of our four dogs early in the year and had just one orphaned litter of two puppies. We also lost a wonderful friend with the passing of Eleanor Foley, an accomplished Boxer breeder and one of Wendy's closest friends for almost three decades.
On the bright side, all of the dogs we showed this year performed well and we were so proud to have been able to present them. A highlight of the year for us was Amanda's trip to Oslo, Norway for the European Winners show where Fifi was Best of Breed, Harley was Best of Opposite and Frankie was Reserve Best Male out of a large entry of ETTs. We also took great pride in the wonderful accomplishments of our babies and grandbabies living elsewhere. Our owners involved in performance sports continued to wow us with fantastic results and we were extremely proud to see that the Top Dog stats in both Canada and the U.S. featured a number of Fwaggle babies and grandbabies. In fact, for 2015 a total of 12 TMTs ranked among the Top 10 in Canada and the US had a Fwaggle parent, including the #1 TMT in Canada and #s 2-5 in the U.S.
Although we wouldn't want to repeat this year again, we will forever be indebted to the wonderful friends and family who helped us through difficult times. Chris Heartz, Allison Foley, Carolyn Horowitz, Blossom Scott, Corey Titon, Karen Cornell, Kirst & Eirik Kahrs, Nicole Feltham, Dean & Jennifer Tomes -- we love you all dearly and appreciate the amazing friendship and support you provided this year. Rough times always reveal true friends and we are lucky to have you. We also offer thanks to the staff at Fairview Animal Hospital and most especially our wonderful vet, Dr. Eric Carnegy.
Here's hoping 2016 has wonderful things in store for everyone!

In May, we were sad to say good-bye to our boy, Indy. He was very much a once-in-a-lifetime dog and we had a tremendous amount of fun on the wild ride he took us on. One of the lasting gifts he gave to us was the friendship we found in Joy Henderson and Vaughn Franske (Seaquest), who piloted him to so many wonderful wins in British Columbia. Of course, he would never have even arrived without the tremendous generosity of Jim Burrows and Patrick Mackesey (Burmack) and we are also indebted to Cindy MacKeen who put so much time and effort into training him for his agility title. Beyond all of the titles and the wonderful puppies he produced, he was first and foremost an adored member of our family. We still miss his familiar form cuddled on the couch and there will never be a dog who snuggles in bed quite as well. Happily, however, he has passed on some of his best traits to his progeny who remind us of him every day.

We lost Chloe suddenly and unexpectedly in May and were absolutely devastated at her passing. She left behind two beautiful new babies and a host of very broken-hearted owners. She truly was the epitome of the phrase "it takes a village". Raised and trained by Karen Cornell, she was a show dog to her core and loved people, life and performing. Karen piloted her to a number of lovely wins in the US before she went to stay with Christina, who began her agility training and took her on an unforgettable trip to Westminster. Finally, she came to us ostensibly to be bred, but Amanda was instantly in love. Never was there a TMT who was more fun to show -- she never, ever let her handler down and we will always remember with pride and happiness her great wins here in Canada and our wonderful memories of her successful trip to the World Show in Finland. More than that, Chloe will be remembered by everyone who loved her as the world's greatest optimist. She never met a person she didn't like and was always happy -- something we can all aspire to.

We absolutely adored our Vanna-Banana and were crushed when we lost her in January after. In this life we are truly blessed if we have one "heart dog". Wendy has had two -- Tango (Am/Can Ch Fwaggles U Wanna Dance) and her great-granddaughter, Vanna. We're pretty sure there wasn't a kinder, sweeter Toy Manchester ever and she appears to have passed those wonderful traits on to her puppies.

Corey and Frankie had big agility plans this year, yet when we lost Chloe, Corey very generously put her plans on hold to allow Frankie to make the big trip down east for a few weeks and then travel with Amanda to Norway. He was a consummate gentleman and performer, showing like a pro and easily finishing his Norwegian Championship with a CAC and Reserve Best Male. He then made the long trek home where he promptly picked up his agility trialing without missing a beat (literally -- he trialed with Qualifying runs the weekend he returned home!). Though only shown for a small handful of shows, he still managed to sneak in at #5 TMT in Canada, earning the last breed points needed for his Grand Champion Excellent title along the way with some wonderful breed wins in Ontario against the top TMTs in the country. Happily, he still had time to finish his Agility Excellent and Intermediate Jumpers titles and also make his very first Therapy Dog visit to the local children's hospital. He is truly a credit to the hard work Corey has invested in him.

CC is practically a human child at this point and unarguably the most spoiled puppy we have ever owned. Luckily, she is also adorable. She was only old enough for one show this year in regular classes, but made us very proud with a Group 2nd and a Group 3rd at exactly 6 months of age. We are looking forward to finishing her in 2016.

Regina keeps doing wonderful things with Quest's big brain and even finished her American Grand Champion title! Out of ETT stock, one of Quest's roles is to continue adding new life to the TMT gene pool, so we are looking forward to seeing what she produces when bred.

It's hard to believe Pixie was seven this year, but don't tell her she's getting old because she is still running her little heart out in Aglity. Not only did she and Cindy have a great showing at regionals this year, thy also earned a number of qualifying runs in Masters levels courses.

Proud Grandma's
We were very proud to see that 12 Toy Manchesters placing among the Top 10 TMTs in Canada or the U.S. had a Fwaggle parent. Certainly, we recognize that their accomplishments belong to their breeders and owners alone who poured countless hours into planning and raisng litters as well as training and showing, but we can't help being proud Grandma's...
